Vertetis spent his whole life in Columbia County and presently lives in Greenport. He has been involved and active in the local community; he was Chairman of The Hudson Develop- ment Corporation, the Hudson Plan- ning Board, the Hudson Development and Planning Agency and was president of the City of Hudson Common Coun- cil. He presently serves on the board of directors of the Columbia Economic Development Corporation. Vertetis has been a volunteer fire- fighter for the City of Hudson for over 40 years. He has worked in all facets of the retail fuel oil and propane industry for the past 35 years. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will assist Valley Energy in its goal of main- taining and improving its customer's experience. Under his leadership Valley Energy will continue to grow and pros- per, providing fair pricing and excep- tional customer service to the residents of Columbia, Greene and northern Dutchess Counties. HUDSON VALLEY OIL & ENERGY COUNCIL 26TH ANNUAL PERSON OF THE YEAR DINNER DANCE DATE AND HONOREE ANNOUNCED On October 24, 2015, members and supporters of the Hudson Valley Oil & Energy Council will once again join to- gether for the organization's biggest fun- draiser, the Annual Person of the Year Dinner Dance. This year, HVOEC will honor the work of Joe D'Aprile, territory manager in Eastern New York for Sweeney Rogers Geraghty. A new addition to the SRGI team, he has a long and successful track record of HVAC design and sales, and strategic sales planning. HVOEC will honor his achievements with a donation to a charity of his choice. Beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Anthony's Pier 9 in New Windsor, N.Y., the HVOEC 26th Annual Person of the Year Dinner Dance will be attended by guests repre- senting energy retailers, home comfort companies and associated businesses throughout the Hudson Valley region. All guests will receive a souvenir journal highlighting the community work and accomplishments of Joe D'Aprile, the HVOEC, and its 25 past Person of the Year honorees.
