Cover Feature g It's a true family festival. At Ashley's Candyland for Kids, find magicians, Popcorn the Clown, a bouncer and Paint a Pumpkin. On Saturday, from 11am- 4pm, the third Giant Pump - kin Weigh-Off is presented by Port Washington State Bank, W61 N526 Washington Ave, in the bank parking lot. While pumpkins weighing more than 1,000 pounds reign at this event, other "giants" include watermelons, tomatoes, gourds and more. The annual Giant Pumpkin Charity Regatta on Sunday features gigantic, deco- rated, hollowed-out, float- able pumpkins, piloted by paddlers attempting to race across Cedar Creek. At the Cedar Creek Settle- ment, home to 25 shops and restaurants, wines are avail- able by glass, bottle or case at Cedar Creek Winery. Food is served at the Settlement's Courtyard Grill and at Anvil Pub & Grille's Patio Bar. The crowd-favorite Great Grape Stomp includes the Kids Stomp at 1 and 3pm and the Adults Stomp at 1:30 and 3:30pm, both Saturday and Sunday. Cedar Creek Marketplace is a crafts bazaar located in the Settlement's courtyard. At the Settlement's Packer Leg - ends tent on Saturday and Sunday, former players meet fans and sign memorabilia. Fans can purchase items on- site or bring their own items for signing (fee). During the festival, pick up a map/schedule at the two information booths and most Cedarburg retailers. Premier sponsors of the festival are BMO Harris Bank and Johnson's Sausage Shoppe. Beautifully preserved 19th century architecture makes Cedarburg a popular destina - tion. The entire downtown was named to the National Register of Historic Places in the mid-1980s. Stone build- ings, picturesque churches and Victorian homes create a delightful spot for strolling, shopping and dining.
