N EWS & TR E ND S AMTHOR INTERNATIONAL EXPANDS AND ADDS JOBS Amthor International is building an 8,000 square foot addition to its plant in Gretna, Virginia that will allow the company to add a minimum of 50 new production jobs over the coming months, announced Amthor Vice President Brian Amthor. This major economic development announcement represents an investment of $500,000 and is the result of increasing worldwide demand for tanks mountings in the refined fuel, vacuum, propane and mining markets. The expansion will allow Amthor International to increase capacity in both its first and second shifts. ECR INTERNATIONAL APPOINTS NEW REGIONAL SALES MANAGER ECR Internat ional (Ut ica, N.Y.) announced that Toby Rank has been named to the position of regional sales manager for the Mid-Atlantic Region. Toby is from Furlong, Penn., and joins ECR International after a 30 plus year career in the HVAC industry. Dave Walsh, ECR International Director of Sales and Marketing said "Toby is very excited to be part of the ECR family and we're very glad to have him on-board." JIM PAINTER NAMED PRESIDENT OF POLAR TANK TRAILER Polar Corporation has announced the appointed Jim Painter president of Polar Tank Trailer, North America's largest manufacturer of aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel tank trailers. Painter will be responsible for overall performance of the division, including three manufacturing plants, the dealer network and several strategic initiatives related to the dramatic growth of the tank trailer industry. He will be based at Polar Tank Trailer's headquarters in Opole, Minn., and report to Ted Fick, Polar Corporation president and CEO. MASSACHUSETTS ACCOUNTING FIRMS MERGE The accounting firms of Gray, Gray www.fueloilnews.com | FUEL OIL NEWS | MARCH 2012 11 & Gray, LLP, (Westwood, Mass.) and O'Toole & Company, PC (Boston) have announced their merger, effective January 1, 2012. The combined firm will operate as Gray, Gray & Gray, LLP, and will maintain offices in both Westwood and Boston. O'Toole & Company partners Timothy O'Toole and Karen Timmermans will become partners in Gray, Gray & Gray, bringing the total number of partners in the firm to sixteen. The staffs of both firms will be retained in the merged entity, which will employ a combined total of 90 people.
