ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE & PARTIES The whole town "turns green" during the week preceding March 17. High- lights include the 50th Shamrock Club St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 12. Milwaukee's celebration began in 1843 before incorporation of the city, ranking it among the oldest in the U.S. The parade starts at noon at the Shops of Grand Avenue, follows Wisconsin Avenue east to Plankin- ton, north to Kilbourn Avenue, west on Kilbourn to Old World 3rd, north to Juneau Avenue, east to Water Street, then south to end at Highland Avenue. " Trinity•Three Irish Pubs, 125 E. Juneau Ave., will open at the traditional 6am. The three-pub location will connect with The Harp via a tent that will cross a closed-off street to join the two businesses (see p. 47). On the East Side the Black Rose hosts an all-day bash with live music. County Clare Irish Inn & Pub, 1234 N. Astor St. Celebrate St. Patrick's spirit and help local charities. Doors open at 6am for a full Irish breakfast. Fun in- cludes Blessing of the Shamrock, door prizes, and Irish food, music and dance. Free bus service March 17 on all Milwaukee Cty.
