46 • JUNE 2012 • WORLD FENCE NEWS FAAC finalizes acquisition of Magnetic Autocontrol Group, a worldwide manufacturer of vehicle and pedestrian access control products On April 27, 2012, FAAC SpA completed the acquisition of Magnetic Autocontrol Group, a world player in vehicle and pedestrian access control. Headquartered in Schopfheim, Germany, Magnetic Autocontrol is a "sound and strong company" operat- ing in the high growth market of vehi- cle and pedestrian access control, cov- ering the global market through sub- sidiaries in Germany, Switzerland, Australia, China, Malaysia, Brazil, India and the U.S., where it operates manufacturing and sales and post sales assets, said Robert Kempton, president of FAAC International, the U.S. sub- sidiary of FAAC Group. "Magnetic is a leader in vehicle and pedestrian access control, provid- ing high quality products and solutions such as vehicle barriers, pedestrian gates and custom-tailored product so- lutions as well as technology to system integrators in the field of fare collec- tion, immigration, boarding and secu- rity. Magnetic has been present in the U.S. market for many years, and their U.S. subsidiary and plant are located in Rockledge, Florida," said Kempton. "This acquisition further strength- ens FAAC Group's position in the North American vehicle and pedes- trian access control and revenue park- ing industry after the acquisition in 2011 of ZEAG Group, and earlier this year of DATAPARK, Inc.," he said.
