www.stma.org January 2017 | SportsTurf 35 John Mascaro is President of Turf-Tec International BACKGROUND ILLUSTRATION COURTESY OF ISTOCKPHOTO.COM John Mascaro is President of Turf-Tec International Obviously, a chalk liner caused this line; however the photo does not even begin to show the awesomeness of the story. This baseball stadium has a maintenance crew and an outside fi eld maintenance company. In addition to these services, a volunteer coach sometimes helps with various activities, including chalking the baseball fi eld for practices. On this occasion, the coach fi lled up the chalk liner inside the maintenance shop and did not notice it was open. Then he proceeded to walk to the fi eld while lining the maintenance center parking lot all the way through the park to the baseball fi eld. Oddly enough when he arrived at the baseball fi eld, he did shut the chalk liner off before he went onto the fi eld, however the fi eld was never lined. When the fi eld maintenance company arrived on site, they not only had to chalk the fi eld but also had to clean up the "extra lines" by hosing the areas down.
