August 2017 | Overdrive | 73 Fleet News By Dean SmallwooD U.S. XPRESS OFFERS WALKAWAY LEASE-PURCHASE CASCADIAS U.S. XPRESS drivers now can lease-purchase a low-mile- age 2015 Freightliner Cascadia with the Chattanooga, Tennessee-based company with no credit check, no money down and no balloon payments. Weekly pay- ments are as low as $493 depending on mileage, and drivers can earn between $1 and $2 per dispatched mile plus a fuel surcharge on loaded miles. The walkaway lease-purchase program has no out- of-pocket penalties for early termination and provides a 500,000-mile drivetrain warranty, 98 percent no-touch freight, a variety of routes including dedicated and dis- counts on tires, fuel and services. Waco, Texas-based CENTRAL FREIGHT LINES announced its Expedited Elite Fleet division for owner-operator teams. Runs include Houston to Orlando, Florida; Houston to Charlotte, North Carolina; and coast-to-coast runs between Atlanta and Fontana, California. Teams can expect dedicated lanes, terminal-to- terminal runs and 5,000 miles or more weekly. SCHNEIDER NATIONAL driver and U.S. Navy Reserves vet- eran David Price was picked to drive the Green Bay, Wisconsin-based company's 11th Ride of Pride truck. Price debuted the truck, a Freightliner Cascadia, at the Rolling Thunder rally in Washington, D.C. David Price, of Fort Worth, Texas, spent 14 years in the Navy Reserves. Central Freight Lines' Expedited Elite Fleet teams earn $1.15 base pay plus a fuel surcharge.
