As with International's RH and RT trucks, redesigned doors improve seals and mini- mize air leaks and wind noise. Pedestal mirrors have been moved forward, improving visibility and allowing drivers to turn their heads less. A premium instrument clus- ter with a driver information display is the same unit featured in the LT, RH and LoneStar models. Configurations range from 4×2 to 8×6 with BBCs of 107 or 113 inches and set-forward or set-back front axles. A clean cab-to-axle configuration is available. The HV comes standard with International's A26 engine, with Cummins' B6.7 and L9 engines as options. Navistar's HV Series is available in regular cab, extended cab and crew cab specifications. IN BRIEF THE HIGH POWER DENSITY engine brake likely will come to market in 2019 and offer twice the braking power at a lower rpm range than the current Jake Brake, said Steve Ernest, vice president of Jacobs Vehicle Systems. The HPD system is designed to improve fuel economy when the engine brake is engaged and help keep foundation brakes cooler. ALLISON TRANSMISSION will release a nine-speed fully automatic transmission for the medium- and heavy-duty vehicle markets by 2020. The transmis- sion will use the same interface as its predecessor, Allison's 2000 Series six-speed automatic trans- mission, and feature a deep fi rst- gear ratio to allow the engine to run at lower speeds sooner to improve fuel savings. STOUGHTON WILL DEBUT its PureBlue line of refrigerated trailers next year. There is no wood in the structure, extending the trailer's life. The 5.25-inch ex- truded aluminum crossmembers in the bay area provide a rigid lightweight fl oor substructure; steel crossmembers are available.
