INDUSTRY NEWS Briggs & Stratton announces 2012 Distributor of the Year BRIGGS & STRATTON CORPORATION recently awarded its 2012 Distributor of the Year to Magneto Power, LLC. Bill Reitman, senior vice president of sales & service, and Doug Dougherty, senior director of distributor support, presented the award to Mark Polzin, president of Magneto Power. "This award recognizes the high levels of service provided in several metrics that we track throughout the year," said Dougherty. "Some of the metrics we feel are critical to the success of our organization and are important to our service dealer organization are high fill rates, next-day delivery, training and technical support, quality of Territory Sales & Service Managers, successful implementation of factory sales & service programs, and much more. We mutually set minimum standards and track performance throughout the year with each of our distributors. It is the goal of Briggs & Stratton and the IDN [Integrated Distributor Network] to continually strive to improve and offer world-class service support." Upon accepting this prestigious award, Polzin said, "Magneto Power is very proud of our team that continues to provide excellent service to our customers. SCAG POWER EQUIPMENT recently announced its 2012 Distributor of the Year and four Master Salesman award winners at its international sales and service meeting in Sheboygan, Wis. Distributor of the Year was awarded to Midwest Equipment & Supply Co., Inc., Evansville, Ind. This award is presented to the Scag distributor which achieves outstanding sales performance and provides consistently excellent support for Scag products, dealers and end users. "We are fortunate to be associated with the good people of Midwest Equipment & Supply and congratulate them on this accomplishment," said John Crowson, president of Scag Power Equipment. Scag also presented Master Salesman awards to the following four individuals: Brian Russell, PACE Inc., Plymouth, Mich.; Jason Rankin, Texas Outdoor Power Equipment, Georgetown, Texas; Stanley Abramowitz, KPM Exceptional, Kenvil, N.J.; and Jeremy Wagner, Midwest Equipment & Supply Co., Inc., Evansville, Ind. The Master Salesman award is Scag's highest-ranking award for excellence in sales, dealer development and dealer support. "These guys are the best of the best and epitomize the complete salesman, one who can not only sell equipment, but partner with their dealers and help grow their business," said Dennis Opalacz, national sales manager for Scag Power Equipment. Echo Power Equipment (Canada) wins top distributor award ECHO POWER EQUIPMENT (CANADA), a London, Ontario-based distributor for outdoor power equipment in Canada, was awarded Distributor of the Year by Schiller Grounds Care for Classen products. At the national distributor meeting for North America, Echo Power Equipment (Canada) was recognized for increasing its Classen business by more than 45 percent during the past year. The award was presented by Schiller Grounds Care's Pat Cappucci, president and CEO, and Dave Navroth, 10 director of sales, to Laurie Workman, national sales and marketing manager, Echo Power Equipment (Canada). "We are thrilled to be recognized for our achievements with the Classen brand," said Ed Zynomirski, president of Echo Power Equipment (Canada). "This award helps to solidify our position as a number one supplier of quality outdoor power equipment in Canada. We look forward to another great year selling Classen and other brands offered by Schiller Grounds Care!"
