NUTS AND BOLTS NEWS Case Improves Wheeled Excavators Case Construction Equipment has unveiled the first three models in an improved range of wheeled excavators. The WX148, WX168 and WX188 have a three-pump hydraulic system, with a dedicated swing pump, a new engine speed/ working mode selection dial, a heavy-duty undercarriage and an improved operator's cab. The three-pump hydraulic system has one pump dedicated to the slew function. This provides continuous movement and allows the operator to multi-function the controls, with continuous move- ment while digging and grading. The hydraulics are managed by the Case Intelligent Hydraulic System control with a single CPU for improved controllability and simplified diagnostics. Automatic Powerboost is included on all three models for heavy breakout and liſt- ing operations. There is also an automatic power increase in travel mode. A new engine speed and new working mode selection dial provides a single point of contact for the operator when setting the machine to work. This dial delivers low idle speed, Liſt 1 and 2 modes for dedicated liſting work, Eco work- ing modes 1, 2 and 3, plus a Heavy Mode for maximum excavating performance. There is also a dedi- cated road travel mode for rapid relocation between sites. Case Intelligent Swing (CIS) allows four swing acceleration settings and three deceleration settings. A new fully automatic hydrostatic powershiſt transmis- sion is directly mounted to the rear axle for maximum ground clearance. With new heavy duty ZF axles, the excavators deliver high travel speeds up to 35km/h, yet provides total control onsite through a creep speed function. A new LCD multifunction moni- tor provides information for the operator and integrated diagnostic functions for service engineers. l www.theconstructionindex.co.uk/news/ view/Oct,2012 Kawasaki Introduces New 95Z7 Wheel Loader Kawasaki is proud to announce the all new 95Z7 wheel loader. This outstanding machine is completely redesigned to meet all EPA Tier 4i emission standards, as well as to improve operating efficiency and produc- tivity. At 388 net horsepower and equipped with a 7.3 cubic yard General Purpose bucket, this production class loader is a pace setter in the industry. The most apparent change to the 95Z7 is the overall appear- ance. Striking new styling sets this machine apart from the crowd. These styling changes are functional as well as aesthetic. The hood design improves rear visibility and serviceability. The reliable and fuel efficient Isuzu 6WG1 diesel meets all Tier 4i emission standards with the use of Cooled Exhaust Gas Recircula- tion and Diesel Particulate Filter or Exhaust Filter systems. This 16 liter engine is the largest in the class. This transmission also has standard Lock-up Torque Con- verter to improve fuel economy and performance. Plus, the 95Z7 has standard Traction Control and Torque Proportioning Dif- ferentials to reduce wheel spin and extend tire life. The ser- vice brakes are mid-mounted for high capacity and cool operation, and the final drives are outboard-mounted for IDA UNIVERSAL November-December 2012 easy access. Diagnostic systems have been improved to allow for more detailed data access to troubleshoot issues quickly and accurately. The Kawasaki 95Z7 also retained several of the heavy duty structural features: Dual Z-Link- age, Box Section Frames, Base Mounted Boom Cylinders and Heavy Duty Center Pin designs make the 95Z7 the strongest machine in its class. l www.kawasakiloaders.com/95Z7.
