The championships return in 2018 for one more year of wowing crowds. The addition of the women's pro championship competition this year adds to the excitement. As always, Old World culture meets contemporary fun with live music and dance, fireworks, cultural displays, children's activities, food, beer and spirits, shopping, parades and more. Musical favorites include Die Lauser, coming direct from Austria to rock German Fest. Bands from Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota also keep festgoers dancing and singing. "Don't miss" features include local German dance groups performing all weekend and German Fest's "living" Glockenspiel. Fireworks light up the skies at 10:30pm Friday and Saturday (sponsored by Discovery World). Children's activities include the giant playground, children's arts and crafts and the Culture Pavilion Passport Program. On Sunday, there is a Children's Fairy Tale Parade at 3:30pm and a Battle of the Mascots soccer scrimmage at 5pm. HOURS OF THE FESTIVAL FRI. 3pm-midnight SAT. Noon-midnight SUN. Noon-9pm ADMISSION $12/advance $15/general admission $7/seniors (60+) $7/students (with current school ID).
