Center the shift-boot
retainer ring around
the shifter, and mark
the location for the hole
that will bring up the duplex
wires from the relays. Feed
the duplex wires through the
hole; they can be fed down
from the top if that's more
convenient, or up from below.

Attach the wires to
the relays; be sure
to use the grommet where the duplex wire
comes through the floor.
Move the shifter through its
cycle to make sure it activates relays and the transmission properly. Reposition
the shift-boot retainer ring,
and mark holes for drilling.

Thread the shift lever
on the base, and slide
the new shift boot
down and under the retainer
ring. Bolt the ring to the cab
floor to finish the installation.
