Race weekend offers something for everyone. The Discover Whitewater Series Half marathon, Half Marathon Relay, Be Active Today! 5k and Fit Kid Shuffle (1 mile) will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2013. Whether you're looking to compete for the purse prize, complete your first road race, or just get together with friends and family – this fun, and well organized, event is perfect for elite athletes, novice, and casual runners/ walkers alike. We hope you come and stay the weekend in the City of Whitewater to enjoy, and discover, all that our exceptional community has to offer. Local restaurants, businesses, kind and giving people, beautiful Midwest scenery, and the University of Wisconsin Whitewater all make for a great weekend getaway. We even offer a way for you to participate with a group of friends, co-workers or family members. The 2013 DWS Team Challenge Program allows you to sign up for the half marathon or 5K as a team. All that is needed is one Team Captain to get your team name established! Participating in the 2013 DWS Team Challenge provides additional "perks" and is a great opportunity to promote camaraderie, friendships, group training, and overall health as a team. More information can be found on our website. Speaking of our website, please make sure that your family and/or support teams use our website's spectator information as a resource to help support you in your experience. For the most up-to-the-minute information about the race please refer to our website (http://www.runwhitewater.com), or follow us on Twitter (@RunWhitewater) and Facebook (facebook. com/RunWhitewater). We are an all-volunteer race organized by friendly Midwest people who love to help in our community and love to run. We extend our warmest thanks to our dedicated volunteers and participating sponsors who are critical to making this Inaugural event come together in 2013. Volunteer and sponsorship opportunities are still needed! If you are interested in finding out more, please visit the website or contact us directly by email: info@runwhitewater.com or phone: 920-397-0601. Without them, this event would not be possible. Take a look at our sponsors – and patronize them! These businesses and people are what living in an exceptional community, the City of Whitewater, is all about.
