ICUEE report | continued gas recirculation engine, featuring a particulate matter catalyst, made up of a diesel oxidation catalyst and a high-efficiency flow-through filter. The catalyst does not require manual regeneration. This emissions approach does not require a diesel particulate filter, and engine power has improved by 10 percent, says Case. Case claims the lowest front entry cab threshold with the SR210. New electro-hydraulic EZ EH controls give operators the ability to quickly change between the Case "H" operating pattern and ISO controls. Nine preset speed and control setting can be changed on the fly, allowing different operators to set the machine to preferred operating conditions. Takeuchi TB260 excavator With its Tier 4 Final engine, Takeuchi's new TB260 excavator weighs in at slightly more than 12,500 pounds and features a reinforced long arm with integrated thumb and 12-foot, 9.4-inch dig depth. The TB260 replaces the 5-ton TB250 model in the company lineup, a move that reflects the preferences of more contractors who say they want a bigger machine in this range, says David Caldwell, product and training manager. A 47-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine powers the unit. Variable displacement pumps speed up cycle times and help generate 12,756 pounds of breakout force at the bucket. With the new engine, Takeuchi ditched the tilt up cab design of the TB250 and put one access hood/ cowling below cab-level on the operators right and one at the rear of the machine. The new engine features a turbocharger and diesel particulate filter/ diesel oxidation catalyst. 26 November 2013 | EquipmentWorld.com Vacuworx concrete barrier lifter Vacuworx's concrete barrier lifter fits underneath a Vacuworx RC series lifter, used to power several of its other vacuum lifters. It is capable of lifting and repositioning 90 percent of the types of Jersey barriers now in use. Vacuworx designed the barrier lifter as an attachment to its existing lifters so users wouldn't need to invest in an entirely new system. The company estimates that using it will be seven to 10 times faster than traditional methods. The RC Series lifter, which can be attached to excavators, backhoes, forklifts, cranes or knucklebooms, can handle loads up to 44,000 pounds. The lifter includes two changeable vacuum pads that fit over the top of materials. Once a barrier is lifted, there is no interruption in the vacuum seal and the unit's vacuum storage reservoir can hold materials for a sustained period under no power. Polaris Brutus HDPTO The new Polaris Brutus HDPTO utility vehicle is purposebuilt for the construction market with a fuel-saving, 24-horsepower diesel engine. Polaris worked with Bobcat to design a front end Pro-Tach system that accepts a wide range of joystickcontrolled construction attachments including a bucket, snow blade, angle broom, snow blower, finishing mower and pallet forks. The new Brutus HD and the Brutus HDPTO come with an enclosed cab with heat and air. The cab's composite plastic that shrugs off the kinds of scratches that lead to rust on painted sheet metal construction. A hydrostatic drive transmission, all-wheel drive and 6 inches of suspension travel iron out the kinds of rough terrain that often gives pickup trucks fits. With its diesel engine, the Brutus utility vehicles can tow up to 2,000 pounds. The electric lift cargo box holds up to 1,250 pounds. EW
