The new deal- ership is a full-service branch of the London, Ontario store with easy access to Highway 401 and the Essex Bypass. Timpte opened its newest ser- vice branch in Bloomington, Ill., and also opened a new sales offi ce in Madison, Wis. Jarvis Truck Sales has united with Pacifi c Truck Centers in order to broaden its service capabilities. The business is now the newest Western Star dealership in Washington state. Rockford, Ill.-based World- wide Equipment Sales has joined the Cottrell Trailers dealer network. Great Dane has added Great Dane of Montreal to its Cana- dian distribution network. MHC Kenworth has broken ground on a new location in Chattanooga, Tenn. Dealer News The Pete Store has completed more than $700,000 in upgrades to its Ringgold, Ga. location, and has acquired certain assets of Elliott/Wilson Capitol Trucks, a dealer with locations in Maryland and Virginia. The company's Richmond facility was damaged by a fi re in late January. Newly merged Diamond Companies and Roberts Truck Center dealerships announced the new name for the organization as Summit Holdings. Auto Parts Headquarters enters heavy-duty market Automotive Parts Headquarters Inc. (APH), a family- owned aftermarket auto parts distributor and store group, is expanding into the heavy-duty market with the creation of its new commercial vehicle division. The division is part of APH's growth strategy and a response to the increasing demand for aftermarket parts in the commercial vehicle marketplace, the company says. "After months of preparation, it's exciting to see everything come together with the overall goal of providing our commercial vehicle customers the same high level of service we provide to our existing customer base," says Phil Bahl, commercial vehicle manager at APH. Honeywell sells friction unit Citing an ill-fi t with the company's focus and long-term strategy, Honeywell has reached an agreement to sell its Friction Materials business unit to Federal-Mogul Corporation for approximately $155 million. Honeywell will continue to operate its friction business as usual with no planned changes in staffi ng, or production through the closing of the transaction, which is expected to occur in the second half of this year. "Smart investment decisions over the past few years have sig- nifi cantly improved the competitive position of Friction Materials faster than we originally planned," says Dave Cote, Honeywell chair- man and CEO. "While the business is much stronger today, it does not fi t with Honeywell's core differentiated technologies focus and long-term growth plans." MERA adds new company The Motor & Equipment Remanufacturer's Association (MERA) has added Arnott Industries to its membership. The MERA mem- bership network now includes 94 automotive and heavy-duty, companies engaged in the remanufacturing industry. Located in Merritt Island, Fla., Arnott Industries is the global industry leader in manufacturing quality aftermarket air suspension products and accessories, the company says.
