42 Landscape and Irrigation August 2014 www.landscapeirrigation.com ACE Torwel Economizer gas-over-hydraulic spreaders ACE Torwel, Inc.'s snow and ice management division announced improvements to its Economizer gas-over-hydraulic pick-up truck spreaders. Performance advancements target more efficient, reli- able snow and ice control in 1.3-, 1.7-, 2.5-, and 3.0-cubic-yard models. ACE Torwel's improved Economizer gas-over-hydraulic V-box spreaders are lightweight and feature stainless-steel or painted 14-gauge-steel construction. Economizer gas-over-hydraulic spreaders feature a quiet, durable 5.5-hp. Honda gas engine with electric start. Operators can easily control the flow of material with an in-the- cab control panel that features electric start, choke, throttle and conveyor controls and adjustable material deflectors. An optional 12-inch chute extension is also available. The Economizer gas-over- hydraulic pickup spreader has a quiet hydraulic drive that provides smooth fluid power, built-in over- load protection, and self-adjusting conveyor tensioner that aids in performance and chain life. Ecolawn's ECO 200 self-propelled top dresser The Ecolawn ECO 200 is a rugged, highly versatile and maneuverable, self-propelled top dresser designed for lawn care professionals to increase efficiency and save countless hours of labor. At the core of the ECO 200 is its reverse-spin, dual-wheel broadcast system that delivers a uniform spread- ing pattern with even the heaviest materials, including compost, soil mix, sand and pellets. In addi- tion, the ECO 200 boasts a new 4-wheel design for increased weight distribution and stability, allow- ing it to handle more weight without losing any of the original Ecolawn's valued maneuverability and ease of operation. With an improved, larger hopper opening and new support design, the ECO 200 boasts up to 20 percent more maximum feeding volume than the ECO 100. Additionally, the newly designed hopper reduces or eliminates the bridging potential of less fluid products. SnowEx Precision Pro spreader SnowEx offers the SP-1675 Precision Pro spreader. Featuring the ability to accurately spread any bulk or bagged ice melting material from 4 to 12 feet wide, the unit is designed to accommodate varying sidewalk widths, which cannot be easily treated with drop spreaders. The SP-1675 Precision Pro has a 6-cubic-foot capacity. A volumetric vane feed system provides consistent material flow to the spinner, while eliminating the need for a gate, since no material can leak out when the spreader is turned off. To ensure even material distribution, the spinner is located in the center of the unit, and the feed rate and spread width are independently adjustable for maximum material control. The spreader comes with a lightweight, corrosion-resistant polyethylene hopper, which requires little maintenance. The electric drive system further reduces maintenance needs, since there are no engines, chains or sprockets to service. TurfEx develops new spreader/sprayer TurfEx introduced the RS7200E spreader/sprayer, which boasts an electric start, adjustable electric spray pump, and a handheld spray wand. The RS7200E is driven by a 7-horsepower Subaru EX210 engine with electric start and a 0.95-gallon fuel tank. Its heavy-duty transmission has two forward gears, neutral and reverse. A hand-operated transmission disc brake and foot-controlled sulky band brake allow smooth, confident operation of the unit. A 17-gallon tank system has a single port for easy filling and a balanced design for enhanced stability. To apply the liquid, the RS7200E includes a front-mounted boomless nozzle, which can spray between 3 and 11 feet wide, as well as a professional-duty spray wand. The unit's electric pump can be turned on while the engine isn't run- ning, allowing the operator to spot spray using only battery power. The hopper of the RS7200E holds up to 150 pounds, or 3 cubic feet, of material, which can be spread up to 11 feet wide by the 12-inch polyethylene spinner.
