21 Wednesday Feb. 25 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. Wednesday Wake-Up Session Gen-Power: Unleashing the Potential of Every Generation Seth Mattison, FutureSight Labs, Orlando, Fla. Sponsored by Sullivan-Palatek Air Compressors Take a look around your organization today. There's a good chance you're working alongside three or even four generations of talent. This dynamic can either create crippling challenges or game-changing advantages for teams that learn to recognize, value and tap into the perspective within every generation. Fresh eyes alongside seasoned wisdom will be a fierce force in the new world of work, and Gen-Power will help you harness it. In this session, Seth Mattison will help you understand the histories, personalities, strengths and challenges of each unique generational group, while also sharing best practices on leading, managing, recruiting and retaining colleagues of all ages and experience levels. Mattison will show you how to: • Develop a working knowledge of who the generations are in today's workplace • Diagnose critical generational gaps that can lead to conflict and challenges because of a lack of understanding (such as communication approaches, work styles and attitudes) • Overcome key roadblocks to creating stronger engagement with each generation • Gain a better understanding of what leaders can do now to plan for succession and "win the war" for talent • Apply a variety of solutions to more effectively communicate and collaborate to increase innovation and productivity Recently named an Editor's Pick for Favorite Speakers for 2013 by MeetingsNet, Seth Mattison is founder and Chief Movement Officer of FutureSight Labs. His insights are based on extensive research and hands- on experience helping companies such as GE Energy, General Mills, Disney and AT&T bridge generational gaps. Mattison spoke at The Rental Show 2014. FIVE GENERATIONS IN THE WORKPLACE In 2015, Generation Z (born 2001–present) will enter the workforce, joining Millennials (born 1982–2000), Generation Xers (born 1965–81), Baby Boomers (born 1946–64) and Traditionalists (born prior to 1946). Doug Southworth The Rental Show Task Force MacAllister Rentals Indianapolis The Rental Show is excellent when it comes to looking at products and services. It's the only place I know of where I can see so many vendors in such a short period of time. The show floor has a great selection of new products and gives me the opportunity to compare among a wide array of suppliers. I find it extremely valuable to speak with supplier representatives and gain their insight. Seeing them face to face is the best way to understand the unique features and benefits of their products. I learn tips from them that I wouldn't get anywhere else.
