38 APRIL 2015 OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT NEw PRoducts PRoduct RouNduP PRoduct RouNduP Products Product NEws Husqvarna's Z200 series of residential zero-turn mowers Do-It-Yourself (DIY) homeowners who can't wait for lawn mowing season to begin have another reason to be excited as spring approaches — the launch of the new Z200 series of residential, zero- turn riding mowers from Husqvarna. The Z200 models — Z242F, Z248F, Z246, Z246i, Z254 and Z254i — add depth to Husqvarna's already-extensive line of lawn and garden equipment, thanks to improved ergonomics, functionality, refinement, deck options, and other features that improve and simplify the mowing experience. A key addition to select models of the Z200 zero-turn mowers is SmartSwitch technology, an innovative operator interface, offering one-touch starting, real-time feedback and keyless security. "At Husqvarna, we take pride in continually striving to improve mowing performance and equipment durability, and we have achieved both with the Z200 series of residential zero-turn mowers," said Sean Dwyer, director of regional product development, Husqvarna. "Its wide range of features takes easy and efficient, zero-turn mowing to new heights." Borrowing from Husqvarna's successful residential zero-turn platform, the new Z200 series offers a wide range of features and options, including an open-design chassis (removable foot plate reduces debris buildup and improves service access); a variety of deck sizes (46- and 54-inch reinforced stamp and 42- and 48-inch fabricated decks); a spring-assisted deck lift (located in the left console for easier accessibility); an automatic mechanical brake system; refined consoles, control panel, rear bumper, engine guard and side panels; and a powerful LED headlight. The Z200 zero-turn mowers became available in March 2015 with a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP), ranging from $2,699 to $3,499. All Z200 models can be purchased at a local Husqvarna dealer, while the Z246 model is also available at Lowe's. Exmark has expanded its 2015 product line to include two side-by- side utility vehicle (UTV) models. The new models deliver the productivity that professionals demand with switch-on-the-fly, 2- or 4-wheel drive, and a customizable 2-in-1 tilting cargo box that transforms from box to flatbed in minutes. "The 500S and 700S UTVs were developed to complement Exmark's industry-leading commercial mowers and lawn care equipment," said Daryn Walters, Exmark's director of marketing. "They deliver the performance, productivity and long-term durability our customers demand in a package that's just as good at having fun as it is at getting work done." Ideal for a wide variety of work or recreation activities, including hauling, pulling, plowing, riding or playing, the Exmark 500S and 700S UTVs feature a dual-range automatic transmission. The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) design responds to inputs, including vehicle speed, load and engine rpm in real time, to deliver optimal acceleration and fuel efficiency. The 700S adds an electric-locking front differential for maximum traction and pulling power, regardless of conditions. The 700S has a total payload capacity of 1,500 pounds (1,100 pounds for the 500S). The transformable design of the tilting rear cargo box can be converted to a flatbed in minutes for enhanced versatility. Integrated front and rear, 2-inch receivers give users the ability to hook up trailers or attachments at either end of the machine. Both Exmark UTVs feature powerful, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engines with eectronic fuel injection (EFI). With the ability to optimize the fuel/air mixture for the conditions, in real time, EFI increases fuel efficiency and delivers excellent throttle response combined with reduced emissions. The 700S utilizes a 695-cc, single overhead cam (SOHC) engine, while the 500S relies on a 443-cc SOHC powerplant.
