16 May/June 2015 Landscape and Irrigation www.landscapeirrigation.com Landscape and Irrigation looks back at the standout new products to hit the market.* In alphabetical order, they are as follows: BILLY GOAT'S AE1300H HYDRO AERATOR Billy Goat Industries' AE1300H is a state-of-the-art, 30-inch, hydro-drive, hydro-tine, reciprocating aerator. The AE1300H boasts Variable Aeration Density (VAD), in-ground turning and patent-pending "FLEXTECH" arms. Combining 30-inch-wide aeration and speeds up to 4.3 mph, the AE1300H completes quarter-acre aerations in as little as 15 minutes. And with its VAD, the unit creates two to 10 times more holes than drum models in a single pass, offering the ability to do patch repair and seedbed prep in just one pass. The FLEX- TECH arms provide flexible limb reciprocating action, driving plug depths up to two times that of drums, even in dry soil. In-ground steering offers excellent maneuverability — no lifting to make turns, so there's no turf repair and no wear and tear on the operator. Intuitive hydro-drive controls allow feathering the speed in both forward and reverse. With just eight tines to service, downtime and cost are kept at a minimum. BOB-CAT'S QUICKCAT STAND-ON MOWER BOB-CAT introduced its first stand-on mower, the BOB-CAT QuickCat. Featuring an ergonomic and nimble design that places the platform close to the drive axles, the QuickCat reduces vibration and rider fatigue to pro- vide commercial operators and large-acreage homeowners with all-day comfort, stability and proven BOB-CAT performance. QuickCat comfort and performance features include: 8-mph mowing speed and 10.5-mph transport speed. Optimal operator station placement for excellent center of mass stability. Extra-large drive tires for a smoother ride and better traction. Low placement of the fuel tank for improved balance on uneven ground. Large 6.5-gallon fuel tank for all-day mowing without refueling. Compact size for nimble maneuvering in tight spaces and loading on trailers. True floating deck that improves cut quality and maintenance. Extra ground clearance to safely move on and off high curbs. Extra-strong DuraDeck mower deck, backed by a limited lifetime warranty. BOBCAT S450 LOADER With a width of just 62 inches when paired with a bucket, the Bobcat S450 skid-steer loader is well suited for accessing and working in tight jobsites, often replacing tasks previously done with manual labor and tools. The machine provides a spacious cab, a 20-percent increase in auxiliary hydraulic pressures and a non-diesel particulate filter (non-DPF) engine. The S450 loader features a radius lift path, providing operators with good reach and visibility. An optional enclosed cab with heat and air conditioning is available for improved operator comfort. Air conditioning is a new option for this size of Bobcat skid-steer loaders. Also available for the first time in a Bobcat skid-steer loader this size, a two-speed drive system provides faster travel when desired — with a maximum speed of 7.1 mph in low range and 9.2 mph in high range. CASE CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT SR270 SKID-STEER LOADER CASE Construction Equipment became the first manufacturer to offer skid-steer loaders with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology with the introduction of the SR270 radial-lift skid-steer. Because SCR is an after- treatment system, it lowers exhaust temperatures and doesn't require unproductive fuel use associated with burning off particulate matter. This offers a significant reduction in fuel use, is more efficient and requires less maintenance than DPFs, as it does not require filter replacement or upkeep. It also removes complexity for operators and maintenance staff by eliminating regeneration associated with DPFs. The brand new SR270 becomes the industry's largest radial-lift skid-steer with a rated operating capacity of 2,700 pounds at 90 horse- power. The new Tier 4 Final model features torque, breakout force and standard auxiliary hydraulic flow, as well as the industry's widest cab with 360-degree visibility.
