The participants of the call agree that delaying the DoE's adoption of the new standards are in the best interest of the industry and, just an importantly, the consumers. The areas specific to OMA's members' expertise that OMA will offer comment/action on are: 1. Are these new standards technically and economically justifi- able feasible and if not, why 2. Will implementing these new standards make economic sense for the consumer and the manufacturers 3. Partnering with NORA and other interested parties in com- mencing an in-depth (both lab and field) study on Oilheating appliance venting and how these issues may affect the efficiency standards. PMAA will be taking the lead position for now and will compile the offerings from OMA with other comments from other industry parties, to present a unified set of comments to the DoE.
