New Products & Packaging x Following the tremendously successful debut of its Red Stag by Jim Beam Black Cherry bourbon, Beam Inc. has just launched two new line extensions to the flavored bour- bon: Red Stag by Jim Beam Honey Tea and Red Stag by Jim Beam Spiced. Honey Tea is comprised of four-year-old bourbon infused with natural honey and tea flavors, boasting a sweet and smooth finish, while Spiced also uses a four-year-old bourbon base infused with natural cinnamon flavors. Rolling out nationwide now, both new flavors are 80 proof and have a suggested retail price of $17.99 for a 750 ml bottle. x TY KU recently added a expression to its lineup of Japanese-produced sakes: TY KU Silver, a premium Junmai sake. Silver joins the higher-end TY KU Black (Junmai Ginjo) and TY KU White (Junmai Daiginjo) to round out the port- folio. Silver is craft brewed from rice which is polished away by 30% to remove impurities, and has a fresh, slightly sweet taste. The 30 proof Silver has a suggested retail of $14.99 (720 ml bottle) and $9.99 (330 ml bottle). x Beam Inc. recently launched a new addition to its line of Laphroaig Islay single malt Scotches: Laphroaig Triple Wood. The flavor profile includes a subtle sherry sweetness along with vanilla and nutty notes as well as the signature Laphroaig peaty element. The 96 proof Laphroaig Triple Wood has a suggested retail of $60 for a 750 ml bottle. x Piccini wines, imported into the U.S. by Aveniu Brands, have released several new vintages, the most recent of which are its Chianti Classic DOCG 2008 ($13 suggested retail), made from 85% sangiovese and 15% merlot, with soft tannins and flavors and cherry and wild berries; its Sasso Al Poggio IGT Toscana 2007 ($25), a supertuscan made from 60% sangiovese, 20% cabernet sauvignon and 20% merlot, a deep, lush, complex wine with luscious fruit and a long finish; Valiano Chianti Classico DOCG 2007 ($22), made from 100% sangiovese, and featuring aromas and flavors of blackberry and dark cherry; and Valiano Poggio Teo Single Vineyard Chianti Classico DOCG 2006 ($27), also 100% sangiovese, a lush wine featuring plum, cherry, toasty oak, raspberry and spice. x Don Julio 70 is the latest offering from Tequila Don Julio.
