NGWA Provides Water Quality and Treatment BSPs NGWA has a variety of industry "best suggested practices" for issues with water quality and treatment, including: • Reducing Problematic Concentrations of Arsenic in Residential Water Well Systems • Reducing Problematic Concentrations of Boron in Residential Water Well Systems • Reducing Problematic Concentrations of Fluoride in Residential Water Well Systems • Reducing Problematic Concentrations of Hydrogen Sulfide in Residential Water Well Systems • Reducing Problematic Concentrations of Iron and Manganese in Residential Water Well Systems NGWA's BSPs are designed to aid groundwater profes- sionals at industry job sites. They are not standards, but prac- tices that have been demonstrated to show superior results. BSPs are prepared by a consensus of groundwater profession- als from around the country. NGWA members can download all BSPs for free as a member benefit under the "Member exclusives" section at www.NGWA.org. Nonmembers can purchase the BSPs. Four Firms Set to Sponsor Darcy Lecture Series Four firms will help underwrite the Henry Darcy Distin- guished Lecture Series in Ground- water Science to foster interest and excel- lence in groundwater science and technology. The companies under- writing the Darcy Lecture Series: ● Leggette, Brashears & Graham Inc. is providing $5000 a year for the 2016, 2017, and 2018 Darcy Lectures. John R. Exams administered by the National Ground Water Associ- ation in October 2015; 18 were for state licensure, with 10 of those passing, and six were for NGWA Certification, with two of those passing. New members NGWA registered in October. The total con- sisted of 76 contractors, 62 scientists and engineers, 14 stu- dents, 12 suppliers, 12 government/academic professionals, 10 manufacturers, 4 associates, 3 manufacturer representa- tives, and 3 public groundwater systems professionals.
