Fleet News 78 | Overdrive | July 2016 By Dean SmallwooD KLLM INSTALLS LOCK SYSTEM ON TRAILERS KLLM TRANSPORT SERVICES, a Jackson, Miss.-based temperature-con- trolled truckload carrier, installed an internal locking system on its entire trailer fleet. The Power In-Lock sys- tem, a remotely controlled deadbolt- style lock developed by Q Products & Services, serves as an additional level of protection against theft and pro- vides shippers with documented proof their product was not compro- mised in transit. The trailer's doors are locked electronically from the inside at KLLM headquarters as soon as the trailer is loaded. Once activated, the door can- not be opened until the trailer reaches its destination, and it can be opened only by fleet personnel. BUSINESS USA TRUCK rebranded its asset-light logistics business, formerly known as Strategic Capacity Solutions, as USAT Logistics. The Van Buren, Ark.-based truckload company said the name change and the design of a USAT logo are the first steps in its strategy to expand its third-party logistics offerings. FACILITIES WEST SIDE TRANSPORT opened a new terminal in Columbus, Ohio, that serves as the base for the company's "home daily" drivers. The terminal is West Side's fifth facility, join- ing locations in Indianapolis, Chicago suburb Glenwood, South St. Paul, Minn., and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. RECOGNITION Salt Lake City-based refrigerat- ed carrier C.R. ENGLAND added six drivers to its Honored Veterans Fleet: Mark Evans, a 23-year Air Force veteran; Leland Boyles, a 10-year Army veteran; Bryan Walk, an eight- year Navy veteran; Dennis Hallowell, a seven-year Marine Corps and Army veteran; Timothy Williams, a four-year Navy veteran; and Robert St. John, a four-year Marine Corps veteran.
