October 2016 | Overdrive | 47 Classically new Cattle hauler Candice Cooley of Havelton, Idaho, wanted a truck with a vintage feel without having to restore an older model. So she worked with Image West and Conrad's Custom Upholstery, both in Utah, on her 2017 Peterbilt. They painted the dash and components white, and she's waiting on custom switches for the dash. For the paint job, Cooley wanted a nod to the straight lines on older models. The paint line on the truck wraps around the sleeper and flows into the inside. "Where there's a red stripe on the truck, that part of the inside, if you open the door, wraps right into the truck and stays the red," she says. — Deanne Winslett GATS BEST OF SHOW, LIMITED MILEAGE BOBTAIL All of the custom work done to Shane Boullion's 2001 Peterbilt 379 EXHD was done under the backyard shed of his home in Cankton, La. "We do everything in-house," Boullion says, which on his Pete included stretching the frame to 300 inches and lowering the front end about 5 inches. Boullion's showed the Pete for four straight years at GATS, never thinking he'd pick up a coveted Best of Show. "I still pinch myself," the owner-operator says. In addition to his personal rose-grey Pete, Boullion owns one other rig. His two-truck operation runs oilfield equipment, mostly in Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma, but as far as California and Wyoming. — James Jaillet GATS BEST OF SHOW, WORKING BOBTAIL Equipment hauler's dream
