48 | Overdrive | October 2016 CUSTOM RIGS PRIDE & POLISH Owner-operator Kary Bryce of Sibley, La., founded his fleet in 1988 with a single Peterbilt 359. He's always had 359s running in his operation, now at 116 trucks, he says. What's now Bryce's most-famed 359 he bought in 1996. He's rebuilt the '86 359 as a custom working rig, "Smoking Section." The name came from Bryce's father, a smoker who always referred to the back of the truck as "the smoking section," and the truck's original Caterpillar, which always has puffed a little black smoke. The rig had been under construction at 4 State Trucks in Joplin, Mo., as the canvas for a gamut of custom features.
