The Eagan, Minnesota- based company also pays $1.17 per mile for runs between 151 and 250 miles and $1.07 for runs between 251 and 300 miles. Pay for empty miles is 90 cents per mile. Bay & Bay said owner-oper- ators can expect to average around 2,500 miles per week. DART TRANSIT increased long- haul owner-operator pay by 2 cents per mile, starting at $1.02 per loaded mile depend- ing on where the driver lives. The Eagan, Minnesota-based company also is providing a fuel adjustment on top of the mileage rate. USA TRUCK increased its pay scale for driver team members and made it easier for them to earn a performance bonus. They can be paid for mileage, mileage bonus, longevity and detention. The Van Buren, Arkansas-based truckload carrier also recently raised its compensation rates for unex- pected downtime and short hauls. RECOGNITION The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance selected Charley Endorf, a profes- sional driver for Omaha, Neb.- based WERNER ENTERPRISES, as the recipient of its 2017 International Driver Excellence Award, which honors commercial drivers who go above and beyond the performance of their duties. Endorf has driven for 45 years and has more than five million accident-free miles.
