March in Milwaukee its more than alliteration, its guaranteed enjoyment. With a strong basketball community and vibrant Irish heritage, Milwaukee County is an ideal place to be this month. But even if you are not visiting for holidays or sports, we have an outstanding diversity of activities to make your visit unique and fulfilling. The month is highlighted by St. Patricks Day, with one of the oldest St. Patricks parades in the country March 9. If youre here for St. Patricks Day itself, we are home to some of the best Irish pubs in the country, along with other outstanding restaurants, bars, and cafes. The Milwaukee Bucks are in contention for the NBA playoffs. Marquettes Golden Eagles and the UWM Panthers close out their regular seasons, with Marquette headed for postseason action in the NCAA championships. No matter what you choose to do in Milwaukee County, I hope you enjoy your time with us. Sincerely, Chris Abele, Milwaukee County Executive Milwaukee enjoyed an unusually warm winter last year, but this year the frosty look and feel returned. No matter what the weather, people in this town get out and enjoy a wide variety of entertainment and activities. We are particularly proud of the performing arts in Milwaukee. Our symphony, ballet, and professional theatre are top notch. Every week, throughout the winter, our stages come alive with wonderful presentations. Venues for those performances are remarkable, too. Downtown's historic Pabst Theater, the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, and the Milwaukee Theatre all have rich traditions. We are a community that values the arts. We also enjoy athletic competition. NBA basketball, indoor soccer and college basketball keep our sports arenas busy. Enthusiastic fans keep downtown hopping. People who live in Milwaukee do not stay home in the winter, and visitors are encouraged to join the fun. e Sincerely, T Tom Barrett, Mayor Tom
