MIAD At the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, students' artistic and intellectual development begins on the first day of class. From that day on, students are in the studio drawing, working on a computer, or sculpting a three-dimensional form. MIAD immerses students in art and design. Each day brings creative challenges, deadlines, and high expectations. We motivate students to reinvent the ways they look at, understand, and create visual work. MIAD's focused, sequential studio program prepares students for professional careers as artists and designers. Our liberal studies courses broaden intellectual horizons by providing a strong understanding of art history, writing, the humanities, sciences, and community. These courses are an integral part of each student's educational and professional development and provide connection to the world in which our students live and thrive. Enrollment: 725 undergraduate.
