The Progressive Insurance Big East Powersports Show, set for Oct. 4-6 at the Oncenter Convention Center in Syracuse, N.Y., and the Progressive Insurance Rocky Mountain Snowmobile Expo, being held Oct. 12-13 in Denver, combine to give attendees, exhibitors and dealers a chance to stay a step ahead of the 2013-14 snowmobiling season. Both will offer plenty for both attendees and vendors, which include several dealerships. "It's a strong sign for the industry when you consider the level of energy that these two shows are creating leading into the fall," said Mark Rosacker, a longtime snowmobile enthusiast and industry veteran from Snow Goer, who works in sales. "Both shows will offer consumers a chance to get fired up for the season, while exhibitors show them their latest innovations and interact face-to-face with their end customers." John Prusak, Snow Goer's longtime editor, joined Rosacker in formulating the two shows this fall after the shows were purchased by EPG Media, parent company of both Snow Goer and Powersports Business. In fact, the two have 40 years of snowmobile industry experience. "We've been attending these shows for years, and look forward to celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Big East. We've been there since the show's first year," Rosacker said. "And it's always impressive to go out to Denver and see the support that the local dealerships provide with booths at that show." The 28th annual Rocky Mountain show, held in partnership with the Colorado Snowmobile Association, brings a fan-friendly addition this year with the launch of Extreme Machines. Snow Goer will select five extreme mountain machines from among entries submitted to the magazine. Those riders with the most extreme modifications done to the engine, track, chassis, suspension and elsewhere will bring their sleds to be displayed at the show in Denver. The Syracuse show will include 2014 models from Arctic Cat, Polaris, Ski-Doo and Yamaha, as well the best in aftermarket products, clothing and travel destinations. PSB 8/28/13 11:04 AM
