Product News B3C Fuel Solutions announces premium 2-cycle oil with Ethanol Shield fuel stabilizer B3C Fuel Solutions, LLC, a manufacturer of environmentally friendly products and solutions for ethanol- and bio-fuel-related problems, announced its new Ethanol Shield 2-Cycle Oil. This ultra-synthetic blend 2-in-1 formula is a premium-quality 2-cycle oil with all the benefits of the Ethanol Shield Fuel Stabilizer. This OEM-tested, verified and approved 2-cycle oil provides customer convenience and savings with its new 2-in-1 formulation. Two-cycle oil is a must when running fuel in 2-cycle equipment. Unfortunately, standard 2-cycle oils come with a set of problems. First, all fuel containing ethanol contains water bound to the ethanol. Ethanol is also hygroscopic, and it continues to attract unbound water (e.g. in fuel, atmosphere). Phase separation is the point this ethanol/water mixture reaches saturation and "falls out," settling on the bottom of a tank. This leads to issues like corrosion, varnish, rust, brittle rubber/plastics, and more. Oil and water do not mix, so when 2-cycle oil is added to fuel, it weakens the ethanol/water/gasoline bond, accelerating phase separation. Second, 2-cycle oils contain detergents that are not miscible with ethanol (not capable of mixing), leading to excess deposits, adding to fuel problems and engine issues. Ethanol Shield 2-Cycle Oil is the "bridge" that bonds fuel, ethanol and water, preventing phase separation and the associated problems. This 1-gallon, 50:1 mix ensures maximum protection for any 2-cycle engine, including those found on string trimmers, blowers, snowmobiles, chains saws, and more. Ethanol Shield 2-Cycle Oil provides 2 products at a cost comparable to "average" 2-cycle oils with the convenience and ease of use (no measuring, no need to add additional additives). Key benefits include: 1) Protects and prevents repairs, extending engine life; 2) Stabilizes fuel up to 1 year; 3) Protects against all ethanol issues; 4) Triple antioxidants stop fuel decay; 5) Rust and corrosion inhibitors; 6) Bonds 2-cycle oil to fuel, stopping lean seizures; 7) Reduces lacquer and varnish buildup; 8) Protects against ring wear and sticking; 9) Conditions rubber and plastic; 10) Low-smoke formula; 11) Top-tier detergent; and 12) Customer convenience and savings. "B3C Fuel Solutions is excited to offer power equipment users the added convenience and savings our new 2-in-1 formula 2-cycle oil provides," said Brian O'Neil, chief business development officer, B3C Fuel Solutions. "Not only is this a superior synthetic blend 2-cycle oil, it also provides all the tangible benefits and engine protection our Ethanol Shield Fuel Stabilizer offers, in the same bottle." B3C Fuel Solutions, LLC Briggs & Stratton turns to VP for small engine fuel VP Racing Fuels, Inc. announced Oct. 22 that it has entered into an agreement with Briggs & Stratton, the world's largest manufacturer of gasoline-powered engines for outdoor power equipment, to provide Briggs & Stratton-branded fuel for gasoline powered engines. VP will produce 3 blends — an ethanol-free fuel for 4-cycle engines and 2 pre-mixed gas + oil blends (40:1 & 50:1) for 2-cycle engines. Each is formulated to include Briggs & Stratton's Advanced Formula Fuel Treatment & Stabilizer and will be packaged in quarts, gallons, 5-gallon pails and 54-gallon drums. "We're extremely excited to produce small engine fuel for Briggs & Stratton under this new license agreement," said Bruce Hendel, director-consumer products for VP Racing Fuels. "To be selected as a fuel supplier by the world's premier manufacturer of small engines is an incredible testament to the innovation and quality of VP Small Engine Fuel products." "In order to ensure peak engine performance, outdoor power equipment owners need to maintain good engine health. This new Briggs & Stratton-branded fuel helps do just that," said Carissa Gingras, director of marketing for consumer engine and service, Briggs & Stratton. "Ethanol-blended fuels can cause damage to engines. We're pleased to offer quality 4-cycle, 50:1 and 40:1 fuel products that are ethanol-free, convenient, and ready-to-use, to help consumers protect their engines." Briggs & Stratton-branded Small Engine Fuel will be available for order by dealers effective immediately, for shipment in January 2014. Dealers can contact their regional IDN distributor for more information. Toro introduces Premium Fuel Treatment Toro recently announced the availability of its new Premium Fuel Treatment. Designed for use with both 2- and 4-cycle small engines, this fuel treatment is designed to keep fuel fresh, keep fuel systems clean, and prevent corrosion. At 1 ounce per 2 gallons of fuel, Toro Premium Fuel Treatment keeps fuel fresh for up to 2 years and helps ensure easy starting, even after seasonal storage. It is also designed to protect fuel against water absorption. The formula features detergents, which dissolve particulate deposits within the fuel system; keeps the intake valves clean; and coats and protects the carburetor. Specially formulated to prevent corrosion of critical fuel-system components, Toro Premium Fuel Treatment contains a metal deactivator that guards components against rust, oxidation and other corrosion that ethanol is known to accelerate. "Using our fuel treatment with every fill-up will protect fuel system components and reduce costly maintenance," said Kim Wellman, aftermarket marketing manager for Toro. The Toro Co.
