The tea comes in five blends. Masala Chai is based on a traditional Indian tea recipe, using shade-grown black tea from China’s Yunnan province. It brews 12 cups in a thermal stainless steel carafe. It has a programmable display with a clock, a brew timer and an option to brew between 4 to 12 cups of coffee. Also, the “brew break” button lets the user pour a cup in the middle of the brewing process. The brewer has a hot water bypass feature which lets the user brew tea without the residual taste. A built-in carbon water filter removes impurities. The water reservoir is removable and it includes a permanent stainless steel filter in the brew basket.
