Renewable eneRgy gRoup enteRs petRoleum DistRibution with Reg eneRgy seRvices, llc Renewable Energy Group, Inc.® has announced it has launched a new division that will sell petroleum-based heating oil and diesel fuel, and enable the company to offer more biofuel blends. REG Energy Services, LLC will sell heat- ing oil and ultra-low sulfur diesel at seven terminals throughout the northeastern U.S. as well as BioHeat® blended heating fuel at an existing REG terminal location. "REG Energy Services complements our advanced biofuel business as we opti- mize and grow our fully integrated biodiesel business across North America," said REG President and CEO Daniel J. Oh. "It allows us to offer more products to our customers, including more biofuel blends, while also expanding our customer base." The new company will be regionally headquartered in Portsmouth, N.H., and led by Barry Knox, a long-time downstream petroleum distribution specialist. Before joining REG, Knox served the last 14 years as chief operating officer at Total Energy Solutions, LLC. Knox just completed his term as a board member of the New England Fuel Institute, and the Massachusetts Energy Marketers Association, and was also a board member of the National Oilheat Research Alliance. REG Energy Services is now marketing heating oil and ULSD at Citgo terminals in Albany, N.Y. (Citgo/Glenmont), South Portland, ME, and Braintree, MA; at Motiva terminals in Providence, RI, New Haven, Conn. and Newark, N.J., as well as the Sun Logistics terminal in Newark. BioHeat® blended heating fuel in blends up to B20 is also available from REG's location at the Clifton, N.J. Co. is partnering with Tremcar USA to offer an expanded product line, while enabling each company to benefit from current and new generation technol- ogy in tank transports. "Both companies share a respected tradi- tion of building and strengthening a family initiated business with attention to quality engineering. Meeting the specific needs of the many customers who rely on our transports to deliver product has spurred the growth of Boston Steel & Tremcar over the years," stated David Burke, president, Boston Steel & Mfg. Co. He made the announcement as Boston approaches its 100th year of continu- ous "made in the USA" operation. Founded in 1962 to fabricate stainless steel transports, Tremcar has advanced to a multi-facility producer of steel and alu- minum carrier tanks for a wide range of liquid and dry products, including light and heavy petroleum, ethanol, waste recycling, cement, lime, sand and flour. The com- pany now has over 750 personnel in US and Canadian plants. "The competence and skills of our com- panies is impressive. Our coupling allows Boston Steel to now offer tanker trailers, Tremcar USA to gain from their vast experi- ence in retail tanks, and for both to present the industry with new and improved options and beneficial delivery schedules," said Tremcar USA President Daniel Tremblay.
