Lakefront Festival of Arts June 17-19
THE MILWAUKEE Art Museum’s 2011 Lakefront Festival of Arts (LFOA), one of the top 25 art festi- vals in the country, is set for June 17-19, on the grounds of the museum along Lake Michigan. Hours are noon-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
The family-friendly event features work by more than 180 artists from around the country, food selec- tions by Café Calatrava, live music, a silent auction, a wine garden, a sculpture garden, and children’s activities. This year, in keeping with the museum’s theme for the summer, LFOA is hosting five artists from China.
Both inside the museum and under cover of a state- of-the-art tent, festivalgoers can visit one-on-one with the artists as they explore the jewelry, paint- ings, ceramics, metalwork, and more in the different booths.
A taste of Fashion Week comes to the LFOA Main Stage Friday at 3 p.m. and and Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
The fashion show will feature unique fiber art fash- ions and one-of-a-kind garments, coats, scarves, and other imaginative fiber wearables for day and evening created by LFOA artists
LFOA admission is $14 at the gate, or $20 for a three-day pass. For information, phone 414-224-3856 or visit www.mam.org.
