FIVE QUESTIONS Amy Jo Feliciano is the central station operations manager for EPS (Engineered Protection Systems, Inc.), based in Grand Rapids, Mich. This June, she won the CSAA Central Station Manager of the Year award, pre- sented at the ESX show in Charlotte, N.C. Feliciano also was a runner-up for the same award in 2010, winning an honorable mention. Feliciano started at EPS in 1994. She worked all three shifts as a central station operator before becoming a supervisor. Then she developed the first service dis- patch position and held that position until 1999, when she became operations manager. Security Systems News caught up with Amy Jo in June and asked her five questions. Amy Jo Feliciano You live and work in Michigan. What do you like about the state? Michigan is very beautiful, and people love the seasons. I love summer; I like heat. What are some of the things you like about the season? I like to run and walk and I’d much rather do that outside than go to the gym…I like to lay out in the sun, or even just do yard work in the sun. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work? My (three) kids are getting older but they sure do keep me busy … and the week I received the award, actually that same night, I was proposed to. So another busy thing—now I’ve got to plan a wedding! Are you a dog person or a cat person? Absolutely a dog person, 100 percent. A big dog lover—all big dog breeds…I have a Boxer. I used to have three Boxers and I’m down to one and she’s getting up there, she’s 9 years old now. What’s your favorite movie? I really don’t see a lot of movies. I’m a busy person. But every holiday season, I will watch Elf over and over and over again. That is my all-time favorite movie, I think. Will Ferrell does an incredible job … It is so funny. —Tess Nacelewicz Periodicals Postage Rates paid at Yarmouth, ME and additional mailing office.
