Industry News: Special Report T APLD announces Landscape Design Awards winners * Matthew Cunningham Landscape he Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) an- nounced its Annual International Landscape Design Awards program win- ners. Landscape designs in seven different categories were submitted for this year's program — residential, non-residential, small garden, show garden, planting design, cost-efficient project and specialty project. The criteria used to evaluate submissions included project impact, creativity, techni- cal merit and planting design. The judges awarded four Gold Awards and 16 Merit Awards in this year's compe- tition. Each year, APLD also bestows the coveted title of "Landscape Designer of the Year" to the highest valued entry in this competition.
