Go back in time to the golden
age of early civilization at the
Milwaukee Public Museum's
Crossroads of Civilization: An-
cient Worlds of the Near East
and Mediterranean,
opening
March 15. Stand alongside
King Tut. Peek inside the
temple of Pharaoh Ramesses
III. See a coin from the time of
Cleopatra. Examine artifacts
from ancient Greece.
Crossroads of Civilization,
made possible by the North-
western Mutual Foundation,
is the first new permanent
exhibit in more than 10 years
at the Milwaukee Public
Museum. The exhibit high-
lights some of the museum's
most unique and popular
collections, presented with
all-new interpretive content
based on emerging research.
Crossroads also draws upon
decades of museum-led
excavations and research to
bring the ancient world to life.
Asia, Africa and Europe
come together in the eastern
Mediterranean. Crossroads
traces cultures that arose from
this region within the themes
of construction, communion,
community, communication,
commerce and conflict.
