Irrigation and Water Management Griswold Controls' Irrigation High Limit Constant Flow Valves Griswold Controls' Irrigation High Limit Constant Flow Valves limit the flowrate (gallons per minute) to your exact need. Limiting the flowrate to design flow gives the designer and property manager the confidence that their sys- tem is performing to their criteria. Overflow is also prevented, which is especially important for any high-flow device. Overflow in those systems can overdraw old municipal mainlines, so it must be prevented. With Griswold Con- trols' Irrigation High Limit Constant Flow Valves, flow is guaranteed to plus or minus 5 percent, regardless of pressure changes in the system. There is no need to adjust the valve — flowrate comes preset from the factory. It is easy to change the flowrate — in the 1/2- to 3-inch size you don't need to remove the valve from the line to make a flowrate change. The valves are corrosion resistant with brass housing in 1/2- to 3-inch valve and epoxy coated hous- ing in 3- to 20-inch valves. accessories are designed to save water, money and time, and deliver the proper irrigation to maintain healthy landscapes. When the weather is cooler than normal, and when it rains, the Climate Logic system will reduce running times or cancel the irrigation. When tempera- tures and solar exposure are above normal, the system will adjust the irrigation schedule to en- sure the proper volume of irrigation. The sys- tem can also automatically shut off irrigation in the event of cold temperatures to prevent ice damage to plants and prevent ice forming on areas such as sidewalks where overspray may occur. Guard is easy to install, with only a couple of additions to the routine installation of valve boxes, and is available in four sizes that are de- signed to fit the most popular sized enclosures. Features of Mole Guard include polypropylene construction that is both strong and durable, and a white color that allows enhanced visuali- zation of contents within the valve box. Mole Guard was invented with service personnel in mind to make the maintenance and repairs of equipment in underground housings as fast, safe, and easy as possible. Juniper Systems' IntuiTrace Juniper Systems' IntuiTrace is a state-of-the- Irritrol Climate Logic wireless weather sensing system Irritrol launched its new line of Climate Logic controller accessories with the introduc- tion of a system comprised of a wireless weather sensor that monitors air temperature, solar exposure and the presence of rainfall and transmits the information to a receiver module that automatically analyzes the data and adjusts the irrigation schedule. The wireless Climate Logic Weather Sensor and Climate Logic Mod- ule is compatible with nearly all current Irritrol controllers. The new Climate Logic controller art mobile irrigation mapping tool designed to produce as-built documentation specifically for landscape installation and maintenance contrac- tors. IntuiTrace generates and stores accurate graphical as-built documentation by using ad- vanced GIS and GPS technology, creating new revenue opportunities and providing substantial cost savings for landscape professionals. In addi- tion to its economic advantages, IntuiTrace also features a simple, easy-to-use interface that proves valuable for large and diverse landscape crews. Designed specifically for use on a rugged handheld computer, IntuiTrace is compatible with the Juniper Systems' Mesa Geo Rugged Notepad and Archer XF101. The Mesa Geo features a fully integrated 2- to 5-meter accu- racy GPS receiver, digital camera, 16-hour bat- tery runtime, and Windows Mobile operating system. All Juniper Systems handhelds are built to IP67 standards to be waterproof and dust- proof. Mole Guard Mole Guard is a solution to dirt, debris, and pest-filled valve boxes. Developed by a licensed landscape irrigation contractor, Mole Guard is a patented bottom for underground valve boxes, with side guards where pipe enters and exits, that provides a barrier preventing dirt and un- wanted pests from entering the enclosure through the bottom or along the piping. Mole 18 Landscape and Irrigation November/December 2011 Netafim Techline CV dripline with recycled material Netafim USA's high-performance Techline CV dripline is now manufactured with recy- cled materials, presenting a new opportunity to earn LEED credits on landscape installations. Techline CV is widely used in a broad range of applications to irrigate turf, trees, shrubs and bedding areas. Netafim USA has introduced several "firsts" with Techline CV. The 17mm flexible tubing features 2 psi check valves in each dripper for equalized application of water throughout the system (all drippers turn on and off at the same time). Check valves also prevent low emitter drainage with elevation changes up to 4.5 feet. Techline CV's dripper design offers continuous self-flushing throughout the line, not just at the beginning or end or a cycle. Pressure compensation allows equal amounts of water delivered over a broad pressure range (14.7 to 70 psi) and a physical root barrier pro- tects the internal system from root intrusion www.landscapeirrigation.com
