Product Round-up | Trenchers Bradco trencher attachment line The Bradco trencher line by Paladin Construction Group includes the Bradco 330, 612, 615, 615F, 625 and 640. Cutting depths range from 24 to 60 inches, and cutting widths range from 3 to 12 inches. Both standard- and high-flow models are available. The entire Bradco trencher line provides several tooth options, including cup, shark and rock and frost teeth, so users can meet each job's individual requirements. A discharging auger neatly places dirt away from the trench to eliminate refilling. Each trencher utilizes a fixed-length boom with a spring- loaded self-adjusting idler, and full rock guard to provide added durability and safety during trenching. A heavy- duty crumber and safety bar also provide better trenching precision, while minimizing flying debris. Every Bradco trencher comes with a 2-year limited warranty. Ditch Witch RT24 Ditch Witch released the new RT24, a fully hydrostatic, 22.3-hp. trencher. The RT24 is designed with more weight on the digging chain, so it can put more product in the ground faster, and its trenching capacities of 48 inches deep and 8 inches wide enable contractors to install a wide variety of utilities and irrigation systems. When digging conditions get tougher, the RT24's chain speed can be adjusted by substituting a 10-tooth sprocket for the standard 12-tooth. Maneuvering in and around jobsites is made easier by the RT24's hydraulic, skid- steer-style steering and high-flotation tires. For added stability and traction, the RT24 can be equipped with heavy-duty tracks that "walk" or oscillate 12 degrees. With the company's Roto Witch boring attachment, the RT24 helps contractors install utilities beneath driveways, sidewalks and other surface improvements with mini- mal turf disturbance. Another option that saves contractors time and effort is a specially designed backfill blade that eliminates the need for shovels and manual labor. Little Beaver Kwik Trench Earth Saws Little Beaver's Kwik-Trench Earth Saws offer a fast, easy-to-use solution for a variety of shallow trenching needs. The 4 available models feature a compact size and push-forward design, and can be easily utilized in areas inac- cessible to full-size trenchers. Pneumatic tires allow the Kwik-Trench to be used on delicate lawns, eliminating turf damage caused by tracked machines and skid-steers. The Kwik-Trench cuts clean, neat trenches up to 12 inches deep, and is able to saw through tough materials such as compacted clay, road fill, asphalt and tree roots. Offering cutting speeds of up to 30 inches per minute, the unit is ideal for many applications including edging, silt fencing, root pruning and sprinkler installation. Toro introduces new 16- and 20-hp. TRX walk-behind trenchers Toro's TRX-16 and TRX-20 gas-powered walk-behind trenchers make trenching easier with a tracked design and operator-friendly controls. The 16-hp. and 20-hp. TRX models are equipped with powerful Kawasaki engines. 10 gpm of hydraulic flow are delivered to the boom to help maximize digging efficiency. Engineered with a low-profile tracked design, Toro TRX models have a low center of gravity for performance in a wide range of conditions. The machines' low ground pressure (4.1 psi) prevents damage to existing turf. Contractors will also benefit from the cross-trenching capability of the TRX models. Tracks help operators maneuver over perpendicular trenches effort- lessly, where wheeled units may get stuck in the existing trench. Toro TRX trenchers can be outfitted with 24-, 36- or 48-inch booms. All 3 models offer chain widths of 4 or 6 inches. Several performance-enhancing accessories are available for the Toro TRX trenchers, including a backfill blade and a boring attachment. Vermeer RTX150 The Vermeer RTX150 is designed specifically for utility contractors to assist in the installation of irrigation lines, drainage tiles, and gas and electric lines. Powered by a 20-hp. Kohler gas engine, the RTX150 offers 68 percent greater torque than lower horsepower models for increased digging performance up to a maximum digging depth of 36 inches. Interchangeable tires or tracks allow users to adapt the RTX150 to the jobsite conditions. The RTX150 features the exclusive and intuitive Vermeer VZ steering system that allows the operator to steer the machine by applying light pressure to the handlebars. A compact design (35 inches wide) allows the machine to navigate in and around tight areas, providing greater mobility and to fit into narrow spots and through back- yard gates. www.greenmediaonline.com/productportal www.landscapeirrigation.com Landscape and Irrigation 3 For more information about any of these products, and more, visit
