Holiday Activity Guide Cedarburg is 'Everyone's Home for the Holidays' CEDARBURG, located 20 minutes north of Milwakee, features more than 100 architecturally significant lime- stone buildings, churches and Victorian structures. The downtown is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and during the holidays becomes a Currier & Ives-like setting. "A Cedarburg Christmas - Everyone's Home for the Holidays" is a new theme encompassing the many Christmas events held from mid-November until New Year's Eve, organized by Cedarburg's many non-profit and charitable groups. The season includes the Wrapped in Gold Fine Art Sale, Dec. 2-31; Holiday Craft & Gift Sale, Dec. 1-3 and Christmas in the Country Boutique, Dec. 2-4. Fine art shows include the Blizzard of Art Show & Sale through Jan. 3 and the Cedarburg Artists Guild Holiday Art Fair, Dec. 2-3. The Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts, N50 W5050 Portland Rd., hosts several exhibits, including Holiday Dolls, Quilts & Fiber Arts: Saints, Celestials & Snowmen, through Jan. 8. Other Cedarburg events include the five Festive Friday Eves held Friday evenings from 5-9 p.m. through Dec. 16 at the Cedar Creek Settlement; Miracle on Washington Avenue and Secret Santa Giveaways, through Christmas. Polar Express on Dec. 17 includes Grafton and Port Washington. Holiday exhibits are available to visitors daily, includ- ing the Washington House Inn's 100-year-old Feather Tree Exhibit, the Cedarburg Cultural Center's Antique Toy Exhibit and the General Store Museum. The Historic Kuhefuss House Museum, is open Dec. 2, 3, 10, 16 and 17. Add to this the option of horse-drawn sleigh rides through 40 wooded acres, trees ablaze with thousands of Christmas lights (by reservation). Cedarburg's churches welcome guests to Christmas concerts and services and a live nativity. Most of Cedarburg's holi- day events are free (or charge a nominal fee) and are open to the public.
