MilwaukeeHoliday Lights Festival brings glow to city's downtown THEMAGIC lives again throughout downtown. For the 13th year, theMilwaukeeHoliday Lights Festival is illuminating downtown streets and parks through Jan. 1. Thousands of lights, dozens of ani- mated displays, sparkling rooflines, brilliant wreaths and a stretch ofMoravian stars along WisconsinAvenue light up the city for the six-week festival. "DowntownMilwaukee is a premier holiday desti- nation," said BethNicols, executive director of MilwaukeeDowntown, Business Improvement District #21. "TheMilwaukeeHoliday Lights Festival bundles all the season's happenings and accents our outdoor environmentwith brilliant light displays. Fromperforming arts and sporting events to concerts and exhibitions, not tomention unique retail destinations and restaurants, down- townMilwaukee offers a little something for every- one." Themes transformthree parks • Cathedral Square Park, located atNorth Jefferson and EastWells Streets, again hosts "Community 8 Spirit Park."More than 60metroMilwaukee schools have adorned fresh evergreenswith handmade ornaments reflecting a class theme. Energy efficient LED-lit trees surround the cen- terpiece of the display – a 50-foot tree of chang- ing red, blue and green lights. • PereMarquette Park, located atWest State and OldWorld 3rd Streets, showcases "LetUs Entertain You"with circus-themed decorations. • ZeidlerUnion Square, located atWestMichigan Street between 3rd and 4th Streets, offers two newthemes – "Holiday Sweet Treats"with gin- gerbreadmen and candy canes. G4S Jingle Bus tours Thursdays-Sundays Fromstorefront decorations and roofline lighting to park and harp lamp decorations, visitors can experi- ence the festival'smyriad of color aboard the con- venientG4S Jingle Bus.
