26 STiR tea & coffee industry international CBTL Expansion Ahead Bill Robards has joined The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf as vp of source development after receiving new capital investment funds. Robards will apply his experience overseeing real estate holdings and expansions at McDonald's Corporation and Starbucks to what newly appointed ceo and president John Dawson calls "…a new age of expansion and develop- ment at The Coffee Bean." The company intends to double the number of stores it has worldwide, something Dawson too has in his background. The new president pushed growth for Dunkin Brands as its global development officer. In related news, the Calamander Group announced plans to expand distribution of the brand's coffee to 10 additional outlets during the year. Rounding out the shifts in leadership is another promotion for "Rising Star" Cori McConnell. The Los Angeles Business Journal noted she is one of the youngest attorneys to hold a general counsel title and applauded her work in helping CBTL to close the deal that brought in more capital from the three investors who joined together to acquire a significant equity position in the company.
