CUSTOM RIGS PRIDE & POLISH 54 | Overdrive | October 2015 Joe Regalado started trucking six years ago out of necessity, but he already has built his business, Jarco Transport, into a lucrative one. The San Antonio, Texas-based sand and gravel hauling company grew from one truck to five in its first year. Now Regalado has 25 trucks. One of those is "Blue," a 2000 Peterbilt 379 and CTS Sand Master dump, which won Best of Show in the Working Combo category at GATS. The truck originally had a high-roof cab and sleeper, but Regalado's team chopped it down and put on a flat-top 36-inch sleeper. They also took the engine out, painted parts of it and chromed others to fit the truck's theme. They also added suicide doors. The Pete has an air bag front suspension, allowing it to drop, but it also has a lifted bumper because of the off- road work the company does. Another unique feature of the truck is that the air lines to the trailer come out of the rear bumper instead of the back of the cab. Regalado's painter, Alex Zapata, came up with the color scheme – a mix of viper blue, Chrysler silver and neon green. The truck's lights can be made to strobe in different sequences. — Matt Cole GATS BEST OF SHOW, WORKING COMBO Joe Regalado and five others tore the 2000 Peterbilt 379 down to the frame rails just 60 days before GATS and rebuilt it.
