BMW U.S. BIKE SALES SETS RECORD With 16,330 sales in the U.S. in 2015, BMW motorcycles estab- lished an all-time record, 9.3 percent above the total of 14,945 units sold in 2014. With 1,210 retailed bikes in December, BMW motor- cycle sales declined by 22 units or -1.8 percent compared to the 1,232 units sold in Decem- ber 2014. The R nineT was one of the top performing models in December with 138 units (134 percent increase) deliv- ered, and in combination with the new R 1200 RS, helped grow R-Series model retails by 21 percent to 575 units com- pared to 477 in December last year. F-Series middleweight machine sales also grew by 11 percent in the month with sales of 235 units compared to 211 the prior year. DRAG SPECIALTIES HIRES NEW SALES REP Bryan Jagger has been named the new Drag Specialties sales rep for Florida's West Coast. His experience includes dealership positions as general manager and mar- keting and sales consultant. He's also been a professional street bike stunt rider. He's an avid Harley-Davidson and Buell owner/rider. WIZARDS PRODUCTS HIRES NEITZ AS MARKETING MANAGER Amy Antonsen, president of Fresh off of celebrating its 46th year in the business, Thousand Oaks Powersports (TOPS) made the decision to open a second location that caters solely to Italian brands: Moto Guzzi, Vespa, Piaggio and Aprilia. The original location serves as a multi-line dealership, carry- ing Yamaha, Kawasaki, KTM, Triumph and Genuine Scooters and offering motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, PWC and scooters. Customers interested in seeing the newest Italian brands don't have to journey very far, as the second dealership is located just a few hundred yards from the original building. Alex O'Neill, Thousand Oak Powersports Italia's store man- ager, said that the new building is part of the dealership's effort to expand and fully support these European brands. While physically a smaller location than the main hub, Thou- sand Oak Powersports Italia offers a wide variety of units from its three Italian brands. The dealership's staff members are hand- picked members of the existing TOPS crew who have specialized experience and training to assist customers in any way possible. Due to the growth that it has experienced, the new location is in the process of adding new employees. CALIFORNIA DEALERSHIP ADDS ITALIAN-BRANDED LOCATION INSIDE Tommy Ady joins Gart Sutton team Gart Sutton & Associates, Inc. (GSA) has added Tommy Ady to its training and consult- ing team. Ady is an industry F&I and sales expert. He was a top salesperson, general manager and a part- ner in his family's line of top perform- ing dealerships. Ady also developed the popular dealer soft- ware tool called "The WriteBack." For the past 10 years Ady has been providing custom- ized sales training programs and sales and F&I processes to powersports dealerships in the U.S. and Canada. "It's great to work within a group that is so dedicated to the profitability of dealers and advancing them with the most profitable pro- cesses. GSA is definitely the leader in dealership profitability," Ady said. He will be a trainer, moderator and business consultant for GSA and will be conducting the company's F&I and sales workshops in Den- ver. Ady made his debut presentation at the Powersports Business Institute @ AIMExpo in Orlando in 2015. PSB MV Agusta sales grow 30 percent in 2015 Sales of MV Agusta's 3- and 4-cylinder superbikes, made in Varese, Italy, exceeded 9,000 units for a 30 percent sales increase in 2015 thanks to strong European and export sales. In Europe the largest sales increase was registered in the U.K., with a 140 percent year-over-year increase. MV's sales in Spain increased by 54 percent, with 26 percent growth in Germany and 20 percent growth in France. Switzerland sales increased by 14 percent compared to 2014, while domestic sales in Italy were flat. MV Agusta also has shown growth in Asia, with new unit sales increasing 12 percent. Premium models such as the Turismo Veloce and Dragster RR are the best sellers, following only the Brutale 800, which repre- sents nearly 35 percent of total sales for the OEM. In the fields of marketing and sales, the partnership between MV Agusta and Mercedes-AMG, which began one year ago with the premium car manufacturer entering into MV Agusta with the acquisition of a 25 percent minority stake, is completing its first activities. MV Agusta currently has 450 dealerships worldwide. "2015 has been a very important year for MV Agusta," said president and CEO Giovanni Castiglioni. "With the launch of the Turismo Veloce, we have created the first touring MV Agusta, a motorcycle that differentiates itself from its competitors by intro- ducing a whole new dimension and experience to traveling, tour- ing that excites your emotions. This aspect is what sets MV apart from other manufacturers. This model has been an important factor in sustaining the increase in sales growth, margins and reve- nues. I am very happy with the first year of the sales and marketing activities with our shareholding partner, Mercedes-AMG: The two brands are a pure example of passion, performance and adrenaline sharing the same true values. "2016 has begun in positive with the anticipated debut of the most important model in terms of sales volumes and image, the all-new Brutale 800. The press launch will take place in January 2016, 15 years after the original Brutale, with total sales number- ing over 30,000 units." MV Agusta celebrated worldwide motorcycles sales of 9,000 units in 2015. Wizards Products, announced that Matthew Neitz has joined the company's executive team as marketing manager. "Matt's professionalism, integrity and industry knowledge make him a perfect fit for our organization" Antonsen said. Neitz brings with him nearly 10 years of sales and marketing experience within the automo- tive aftermarket industry work- ing with TEN-The Enthusiast Network, with such brands as HOTROD, Motor Trend and Automobile. He holds a B.A. in business communications from Florida Gulf Coast University. "This is a very exciting time to join the Wizards team and help grow the brand and to make Wizards a household name," said Neitz. HARLEY-DAVIDSON DEALERSHIP GETS NEW OWNER George Chaconas of Perfor- mance Brokerage Services reports that Ozzie Giglio has added to his stable of Harley- Davidson dealerships in Illinois by purchasing Starved Rock Harley-Davidson in Ottawa, Ill., from Tom and Sara Eiden. The dealership will keep its name. The Eidens purchased Starved Rock Harley-Davidson in 2000. After selling their fam- ily owned community bank at 55 years old, Tom, a motorcy- cling enthusiast, and Sara Eiden decided to join the Harley- Davidson family as dealers. Giglio owns Windy City Motorcycles, a group now com- prised of six Harley-Davidson dealerships. The other five are: Chicago's Wild Fire Harley-Davidson, Illinois Harley-Davidson, Chicago's City Limits Harley- Davidson, Windy City Har- ley-Davidson and Fox River Harley-Davidson.
