Welcome to Wisconsin! As Governor, it is my very special pleasure to welcome you to Milwaukee and the great State of Wisconsin. We are blessed with four seasons of exploring, adventuring and enjoying all of our beautiful state. Wisconsin has a knack for balancing tradition with cutting-edge, always seeking and finding new ways to have fun. In Wisconsin you'll find that we've taken our love of the land to the next level – creating a wide range of opportunities for you and your family to enjoy our woods, waters, prairies and cities. Wisconsin is the only state that's home to two Great Lakes, America's greatest river, and 15,000 inland bodies of water. Our state's natural beauty is matched by the world-class amenities and culture of our towns and urban areas like Milwaukee. And in all of our destinations you will meet friendly people who take pride in their communities and look forward to welcoming you. Whether you are planning an urban getaway in Milwaukee or choose to explore the rest of Wisconsin's vacation options, many fond memories are waiting for you. Thank you for visiting and please come back often! Sincerely, Scott Walker, Governor Even after a mild winter, the signs of summer in Milwaukee County excite people of all ages. Our parks fill up with children playing, bike paths transform into busy two-wheeled highways and outdoor seats become prime spots at restaurants and pubs. As Milwaukee County Executive, I invite you to share in all the amazing things the county offers, from public golf courses that feature something for every level of player to the world-class Milwaukee Art Museum. The summer time is a great opportunity to take in the gorgeous views of Lake Michigan or cheer on the Brewers at Miller Park. Milwaukee County offers countless dining choices. From downtown steakhouses to suburban pizza restaurants, there is something for every taste. You're also encouraged to spend time shopping at our numerous stores and malls. Bayshore Town Center in Glendale features an outdoor layout while Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa offers 180 stores to enjoy. Please make sure to enjoy what Milwaukee County has to offer. You, your family and friends will be glad you did. Sincerely, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele Milwaukee offers lots of great choices. We enjoy a wide array of restaurants, museums, entertainment and parks. There are also lots of ways to travel to and from Milwaukee. People arrive by automobile and air, rail and water. One thing that sets us apart is travel convenience. Amtrak's popular Hiawatha Service connects down- town Milwaukee with Chicago multiple times a day. Mitchell International Airport is among the nation's easiest to navigate. Major highways move traffic quickly north, south, and west. And if you're traveling east – across Lake Michigan – the Lake Express High Speed Ferry is a fabulous way to go. The Lake Express is a tenant of the city's port, and the relationship between Milwaukee city government and the ferry is strong. In eight years of Lake Express operation, the Port of Milwaukee has earned $1 million in lease, parking and per-passenger fees. More importantly, the Lake Express has brought increased tourism to our community. In Milwaukee, getting here can be a relaxing part of your adventure. Sincerely, Tom Barrett, Mayor
