Pro-HD 12/24-Volt Smart Charger on Wheels — Charger Recovery Unit In-Vehicle Charging The PulseTech Pro-HD heavy-duty rolling charger is a fully automatic smart charger with Pulse Technology. It charges and desulfates any type of lead- acid battery (flooded cell, sealed, VRLA and AGM) to optimal levels. The Pro- HD auto-senses voltages from 110 to 240 volts and from 50 to 60 hertz. It is able to automatically switch between 12-volt and 24-volt batteries and has reverse polarity protection and a thermal circuit breaker. Since this charger is fully automatic it senses battery condition and provides only the charge the battery can accept without overcharging. With pulse technology, the charge voltage and current adjust to maximize battery recovery and charging, opti- mizing battery life. The Pro-HD is able to sense voltages making it compatible with worldwide electrical systems, allowing it to operate anywhere in the world. The portable charger is in a powder coated 14 gauge cold rolled steel box with semi-pneu- matic wheels for mobility so it can be rolled up to any vehicle and has a built-in storage com- partment for cables and tools. With the battery box open simply attach the heavy duty alligator clamps to the battery terminals or use the special heavy duty connector that fits into the slave receptacle and flip the switch. It's as easy as that. The combination of smart and pulsing technologies prevents battery gassing, allowing charging while batteries are installed in vehicles. The Pro-HD's smart charging capa- bilities with one-switch operation minimizes operator training requirements, making it easier to learn and use. The five LED indicator lights on the charger show the status of the charger and battery being charged. When the unit detects a 12-volt battery a green 12V Charge LED lights, and when a 24-volt battery is sensed a yellow 24V Charge LED comes on. A red LED indicates that pulsing is being applied to the battery and the Charge Complete LED is green. Unit also has a green Power LED that confirms the unit is switched on and powered. Lieutenant Colonel Anthony W. Adams, KYARNG explains how the Pro-HD helps maintain and restore batteries. "When a vehicle is brought into the shop, the batteries are tested to en- sure that they are holding a charge within 0.2 volts of each other. When that is verified, the Pro-HD charger is hooked up to the vehicle's slave receptacle. The Pro-HD returns the batteries to a like-new state without having to remove the batteries from the vehicle."
