Live theatre alive and well in Milwaukee CORPORATE AND INDIVIDUAL donors and season ticketholders have kept live theatre alive and well in Metro Milwaukee. October produc- tions include premieres of two new plays: At the Milwaukee Repertory Theater, 108 E. Wells St.: • Assassins, an investigation of the personalities of nine Presidential assassins, concludes its run Oct. 7. • The Diary of Anne Frank opens Oct. 23 on the Rep's Quadracci Powerhouse Stage and runs through Dec. 2. • The Mountaintop, a study of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the eve of his assassination, contin- ues through Nov. 4 in the Rep's Steimke Studio Theater. At the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway: • Broken and Entered, the world premiere of a work about brothers who move back to their family home in a crumbling inner city, is pre- sented by Milwaukee Chamber Theatre through Oct. 14. Other venues and live, local productions include: • Life (X) Three, a premiere of author/play- wright Yasmina Reza's comedy about a din- ner party gone wrong, continues through Oct. 14 at the Boulevard Theatre, 2252 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. • Microcrisis, an irreverent satire about a brand new economic roller coaster ride, continues through Oct. 21 at Next Act Theatre, 255 S. Water St. • The Nightmare Room, a dark and chilling psy- chological thriller, opens Oct. 5 and continues through Oct. 21 at the Tenth Street Theatre, 628 N. 10th St. • Trainspotting, the stage version of the award- winning book and film, opens Oct. 25 and continues through Nov. 4 at the intimate Off the Wall Theatre, 127 E.
