Oakcreek Golf & Turf is Western Canada's exclusive distributor for Toro Commercial Equipment, Toro Golf Irrigation, Yamaha Golf Cars, Harper Sweepers, Express Dual reel grinders, PistenBully Snow Cats and Flowtronex pump stations. Oakcreek has been in the golf business since 1969 when Barb and Don McGlinchey started up as a distributor for Westinghouse electric golf cars, operating from their farm beside Spruce Meadows near Calgary. The company grew slowly through the seventies, selling Harley-Davidson golf carts, until they were approached by Yamaha to take on its brand new line of golf cars in 1979. The business gathered momentum over the next few years. With sales rapidly growing they opened a branch office in Vancouver and moved to the current Calgary location in Foothills Industrial Park. Barb continued to operate the business up until 1988 when she sold it to a group of investors. Over the years Oakcreek has won international distributor of the year awards with Toro for sales performance and for parts and service. Since the addition of Toro Commercial Equipment, Oakcreek opened offices in Edmonton, Saskatoon, Kelowna and Duncan to better service those local markets. In 1996 Toro approached Oakcreek and asked them to take on the golf irrigation product line to complement the commercial equipment lineup. In 1998, the company decided to parlay some of his connections from the ski industry by approaching Kassbohrer All-Terrain Vehicles, manufacturers of PistenBully Snow Cats in Germany. PistenBully grew steadily into a major product line for Oakcreek, nicely filling an off-season void in the service and parts department. Today, Oakcreek employs approximately 90 people in its six offices across British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
