Fleet News Driver responds to fatal crash, named Highway Angel The Truckload Carriers Association named John Lilley of Kelowna, British Columbia, a Highway Angel. Lilley, who drives for Bison Transport of Winnipeg, Manitoba, tried to help save an injured man in a car crash after hearing on the CB that there was a need for volunteers with medical training. Lilley, who has 23 years of experience as a volunteer search-and-rescue medical technician, focused on helping the driver, who was bleeding internally and externally. Despite Lilley's efforts, the driver died due to injuries. Honors Trucker Buddy International selected Randolph Boswell, a driver for Southern Refrigerated Transport of Texarkana, Ark., as the Darrell Hicks Memorial Ambassador of the Year for 2013. He has been an active Trucker Buddy for more than seven years and an ambassador for almost five. … Three drivers from Prime Inc. were honored at the 2013 Missouri Trucking Association Annual Safety Conference. Experienced company teams will earn an $8,000 ($4,000 per driver) sign-on bonus when joining the van truckload division, while recent driving school graduates will earn $6,000. Owner-operator teams will earn an $8,000 lease incentive.
