merica is an under-recognized jewel, too. Our fundamental point of difference from state associations is that we represent nearly all 50 states, so our grassroots political outreach is very powerful. With enhanced marketing and public relations efforts, we will build WineAmerica's trade recognition, membership and services to our members. The broad national contact base I built in Lodi is coming in very handy as I take on this role. I am loving it. [ V&WM] Since 2000, the number of wineries in the United States has grown by nearly four times, with most of that growth in the "Other 47," states beyond California, Oregon and Washington. We now see New York's Finger Lakes and Long Island, Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, and the Texas High Plains touted by major travel publications as "wine destinations" worth a visit.
