AGGREGATES MANAGER February 2015 12 Tier 4 Final big trucks Hyster Co. launches its first Tier 4 Final big truck models with fuel savings of up to 25 percent. Intended for applications such as heavy hauling, the 40,000- to 70,000-pound trucks feature a Tier 4 Final Cummins QSB 6.7-liter engine with a five-speed power- shift transmission. The engine offers peak power of 230 to 270 horsepower, depending on model. The integrated drivetrain with emission reduction package includes cooled exhaust gas recirculation, a selective catalytic reduction system for nitrogen oxygen reduction, a diesel oxidation catalyst for particulate matter removal, and a diesel exhaust fluid delivery system. Hyster Co. | www.hyster.com Dual flow air compressor Doosan Portable Power rolls out its Tier 4 Final P250/HP185 portable air compressor, featuring dual air pressure and dual flow. The two-in-one model delivers the pressure and flow typically supplied by two units in a single air compressor. It operates at either 250 cfm at 100 psi or 185 cfm at 150 psi. The variable pressure and flow settings are controlled with a simple push-button keypad, allowing the operator to change from a low-pressure to a high-pressure setting in one simple step. Doosan Portable Power | www.doosanportablepower.com Accurate payload system Caterpillar introduces Cat Production Measurement for Medium Wheel Loaders, an in-cab system that allows loader operators to consistently place exact loads on trucks, eliminating both guesswork at the stockpile and time-wasting returns to the loading area for trucks too heavy or light at the scale. The system's integrated, multi-function, touch-screen display provides immediate information for operators, allowing adjustment of final-pass loads both at the pile and at the truck. Used in conjunction with Cat Connect LINK technologies, loader owners can access production information online through that system or receive more detailed reports through the VIMS software. Caterpillar | www.cat.com Upsized cavity volume To process more rock, Metso's Nordberg C130 jaw crusher has a 21-percent larger cav- ity volume compared to previous models in its class size. The increased volume, combined with the large feed (39 by 51 inches) opening, is said to ensure high-capacity primary crushing in demanding quarrying applications. The new crusher is a 40-ton, 200-horse- power unit and features a pinned and bolted design for reliability, long life, and easy ser- viceability. Its operating speed is 220 rpm and the closed-side setting is between 4 and 10 inches. Optional easy-to-open composite flywheel guards allow quick and safe access to all service points. Metso | www.metso.com Power portable boom system Allied Construction Products, LLC adds a PowerPortable boom system to its Pedestal Breaker System product line. Designed for aggregates and recycling operations, it can be used with stationary or wheel- and track- mounted mobile crushers. Built around Allied's Rammer, AR Series, and Hy-Ram hydraulic hammers, the 350- to 1400-class hammers are mount- ed on a special low-profile boom that adds minimal height and weight to the crusher, but offers reaches of 10 to 15 feet to ensure reach to both the crusher and feeder. The portable boom system is powered by 20- to 30-horsepower power units. It can be connected directly to the crusher's hydraulic circuit. Functions are controlled through a system of valves. Other control options include an electro-hydraulic remote control with a two-joystick hydraulic control and a wireless remote control option. Allied Construction Products | www.alliedcp.com
